MONTANA STATE BOBCATS

JAXEN HASHLEY: Defensive line – Kalispell Glacier High – Kalispell, Montana

The Numbers: The 6-foot-6, 260-pounder helped lead the Wolfpack to the Class AA state championship game by standing out as a defensive lineman and offensive tackle. Hashley notched 54 tackles, 8.5 sacks, three pass breakups and nine quarterback hurries.

Accolades: Hashley is the son of Montana State Hall of Fame basketball player Doug Hashley. Jaxen earned second-team Class AA all-state honors as a sophomore defensive lineman in football and first-team all-state honors as a sophomore in basketball. Hashley tore his ACL his junior year in football but bounced back to have a first-team all-state campaign on both sides of the ball as a senior as Glacier finished as the Class AA runner-up. The three-year National Honors Society member was also a two-time team captain in football and basketball.

Academics: Health enhancement or Kinesiology

Hashley on Montana State: “I’ve always wanted to be a Bobcat since I was a kid. It’s always been my dream. Every time we came to Bozeman, I’d see my dad’s picture up at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. Always being around Bozeman, I knew it was the place I wanted to be. There’s a lot of people that I already know there, great support already and I want to keep building on that.”

Film: Jaxen Hashley Highlights

Coach Choate on Hashley: “He’s a 6-foot-6, 260-pound athlete who’s light on his feet, he’s a tremendous basketball player, he’s a legacy kid whose father was a hall of fame basketball player here. Once he starts to focus on football he’s going to really develop quickly. He’s a young man who won a state championship his sophomore year and played for a state championship this year. He’s one of the best big men in the state of Montana at any level in basketball, and he has a little edge to him.”

Story on Hashley’s commitment: Hashley follows in father’s footsteps, becomes a Bobcat
