It’s an annual truth of the new college football ecosystem, one brought into being by extra years of eligibility and relaxed transfer rules: every offseason, teams across the FCS and the Big Sky Conference find themselves needing to replace transfers who head up and out, departing for the FBS to chase a bigger stage and better opportunities. Some fans of the subdivision grouse at the trend, saying that it takes talent out of FCS and prevents schools at this level from developing their own long-term stars.
At Skyline Sports, we disagree. After all, one star leaving is just an opportunity for another to rise in its place. With that in mind, we looked at five of the highest-profile transfers out of the Big Sky Conference this off season – and, more importantly, who’s likely to replace them.
