Academics, ‘winning culture’ sells 3-star DB Jackson on Montana State

Academics have always been one of Miles Jackson’s highest priorities.

His mental acumen helped open many doors. So did the ability to play aggressive man-to-man coverage and produce points as a dynamic returner on special teams at Central Catholic High School in Portland.

Just five days after playing against nationally-ranked Eastside Catholic High School (Wash.) and returning the opening kickoff 99 yards for a score, Jackson decided he wanted to spent the next years of his life at Montana State.

And MSU’s top-notch engineering program proved to be the No. 1 selling point in choosing a football future with the Bobcats over offers from Army, Georgetown and Ivy League schools like Columbia, Brown and Penn. The standout senior also had an offer from Portland State.
