No. 3 Montana State emerged from a wild, haphazard showdown against No. 5 Weber State that included four safeties on errant punts, a kick and punt return touchdown by Weber State plus a blocked field goal by the Wildcats, and a Big Sky Conference record for rushing yards by a quarterback (273) by MSU sophomore Tommy Mellott to post a 43-38 victory.
