Montana won its seventh straight game by thrashing rival Montana State 37-7 to end the regular season. The win sewed up the outright Big Sky Conference championship and secured the No. 2 seed in the FCS playoffs for UM.
Montana received a first round bye and will take on Delaware in the second round Saturday night in Missoula, Montana.
The Blue Hens are 9-3 after a 36-34 win over Lafayette in the first round of the playoffs. The last time Delaware and Montana played was in 1993 when the Blue Hens posted a 49-48 win over the Griz in the first round of the Division I-AA playoffs.
