Montana Griz presser: Griz gut out double OT win over NDSU, advance to national title game

on

No. 2 Montana emerged with a 31-29 double overtime win over No. 8 North Dakota State to advance to the national championship game of the FCS Playoffs on January 7, 2024.

The Griz did it thanks in part to Eli Gilman’s touchdown, Junior Bergen’s two-point conversion toss to Keelan White and Corbin Walker’s interception on a two-point conversion.

Montana advances to the championship game for the eight time in program history, including the first time since 2009.

The Griz have now won 10 in a row and have 39 playoff wins in program history. NDSU had won five straight this season, including three in a row in the playoffs. The Bison were in the semifinals of the playoffs for the 12th fall season in a row before Saturday’s loss, which means NDSU finishes 11-4.

Following the game, Montana head coach Bobby Hauck, White, Bergen and senior linebacker Braxton Hill along with NDSU senior quarterback Cam Miller, senior defensive end Jake Kava, sophomore wide receiver Eli Green and head coach Matt Entz addressed the media.
