No. 8 North Dakota State blocked an extra point in overtime to emerge with a shocking 35-34 win over No. 6 Montana State in Bozeman on December 2, 2023.
The Bison rallied from a 28-21 deficit to emerge with their record-setting 46th playoff victory, surpassing Georgia Southern’s previous record.
NDSU moves on to the quarterfinals to take on No. 3 South Dakota in Vermillion.
Montana State’s season ends with three losses in its last five games and the Bobcats finish 2023 with an 8-4 record. MSU is now 5-3 in the FCS Playoffs under head coach Brent Vigen.
