NATIONAL SIGNING DAY: Linebacker Chad Kanow

CHAD KANOW- Linebacker – Great Oaks High School- Temecula, California

The Numbers: The 6-foot-4, 205-pound linebacker is a 2-star who Montana State had to fend off several Mountain West schools to sign. Kanow blossomed into a productive, hard hitter his senior year, piling up 113 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, five sacks and three forced fumble.

The Accolades: Kanow earned first-team all-league honors after his monster senior season. He received an offer from Division II Dixie State and heavy interest from Nevada.

Academics: Undecided

Cole on Montana State: “I got a call one day out of nowhere saying they were going to offer me a full ride scholarship. It meant the world to me. It made it feel like all the hard work paid off. I was just like, ‘Sweet, I will always have Montana State in mind.’ But they constantly kept in touch, sending me letters. It just felt right.”

Coach Choate on Kanow: “A linebacker form the Inland Empire, Chad was a very good inside linebacker in high school, but he’s a very good athlete with good range. He was extremely productive in high school ,and I think he has the ability to play inside or outside for us.”
