MONTANA STATE BOBCATS

CONNOR WOOD- Offensive line – Rocky Mountain High School – Meridian, Idaho

The Numbers: The 6-foot-5, 310-pound offensive tackle is a 2-star recruit who played on Rocky Mountain’s 2014 Idaho 5A state title team down the stretch after missing most of his junior year because of a shattered ankle suffered the summer prior. He returned to help lead the Grizzlies to the semifinals his senior season last fall.

The Accolades: After breaking his fibula and tearing most of the tendons in his ankle, Wood needed surgery and 15 screws to repair the injury. He recovered enough to earn a scholarship offer from MSU during the Bobcats’ individual camp in the summer of 2016. As a senior, he was an all-league player who helped Rocky Mountain reach the Idaho 5A semifinals. The honor roll student earned second-team All-SIC honors and was chosen for the East-West All-Star game.

Academics: Business management

Wood on Montana State: “What drew me to Montana State was mostly the coaching staff. They have one of the most elite coaching staffs in the Big Sky and that was a huge part of my decision.”

Film: Connor Wood Highlights

Coach Choate on Wood: “Connor played tackle in high school, but he may play guard here. He has very good size, he’s a strong, powerful kid, with good feet for his size. He finishes blocks well, and he’s another player who won a state championship and is from a winning high school program.”
