Seven Montana State Bobcats and five Montana Grizzlies earned places on a preseason all-Big Sky Conference football team that was headlined by Idaho’s offensive skill players.

Fullback Derryk Snell, offensive linemen Rush Reimer and JT Reed and quarterback Sean Chambers were selected for Montana State’s offense, with Chambers listed as an all-purpose player. Defensive linemen Sebastian Valdez and Brody Grebe represented the ‘Cats defense, with long snapper Tommy O’Sullivan rounding out Montana State’s honorees.

Offensive lineman Hunter Mayginnes, defensive lineman Alex Gubner and linebacker Levi Janacaro were selected for Montana, with the Griz also getting two special teamers on the list in punt returner Junior Bergen and special teamer Trevin Gradney.

Idaho had most of its offensive skill starters selected in quarterback Gevani McCoy, running back Anthony Woods and wide receivers Hayden Hatten and Jermaine Jackson.

Hatten was also picked as the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year after leading Idaho with 83 catches, 1,209 yards and 15 touchdowns last year.

The Vandals also put cornerback Marcus Harris and kicker Ricardo Chavez on the team.

Weber State linebacker Winston Reid was the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. Reid had 112 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and five forced fumbles for the Wildcats last season.
