Montana State junior Jubrile Belo was literally unstoppable on Saturday afternoon, converting all 13 of his field goal attempts on the way to a career-high 32 points.
Sac State’s Ethan Esposito bulled his way to 32 points and eight rebounds as the Hornets moved to 5-9 in league play with a 74-73 win over MSU.
Following the game, MSU head coach Danny Sprinkle and Belo addressed the media. Despite the loss, Montana State finished with a winning record for the second consecutive season, the first time that’s happened since 2002.
Sprinkle becomes the first Bobcat coach with winning seasons in his first two campaigns on the MSU bench since Bruce Haroldson (1978-80). The Bobcats and Idaho State each finish league play 8-6 and square off on Thursday in the Big Sky Conference Tournament’s Quarterfinals in Boise.
