Weber stays on top with OT win: UND, EWU keep pace

OGDEN, Utah (February 11, 2017) Weber State’s Jeremy Senglin became the Big Sky Conference all-time 3-pointers leader Saturday night at Portland State in an overtime win. Behind Ty Gibson’s shooting, Eastern Washington destroyed Northern Colorado while North Dakota posted a huge home win over Idaho to stay half a game behind Weber in the league standings. Montana beat NAU and Montana State won at Southern Utah as the Griz and Bobcats continue to chase first-round byes in the Big Sky Tournament in Reno the second week of March. 


 
Weber State 96, Portland State 93 (OT) – The Vikings (12-11, 5-7 BSC) took Weber State (15-8, 10-2 BSC) to the wire Saturday night but the Wildcats managed to hold on for the road win. Senglin went 5-for-11 from behind the arch to become the Big Sky 3-point leader, and finished with a team-high 32 points. Senglin now has 312 3-pointers in his decorated career, passing former Northern Arizona sharpshooter Ross Land (308) for the most in Big Sky history. Ryan Richardson made 7-of-12 from the field to finish with 22 points and four rebounds.
 
PSU was led by De’Sean Parsons with 32 points, seven boards and three assists. Traylin Farris added 17 points and five rebounds.
 
Eastern Washington 70, Northern Colorado 44 – Ty Gibson scored a career-high 21 points as EWU (17-9, 9-4 BSC) topped UNC (8-16, 4-9 BSC) in Greeley. Jacob Wiley also scored 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting with eight rebounds. The Eagles used a 15-2 run in the second half to build up a big lead and never looked back.
 
Jordan Davis led the Bears with 15 points and nine rebounds. Jonah Radebaugh added 10 points.
 
North Dakota 88, Idaho 65 — Sophomore Geno Crandall scored a game-high 22 points and senior Quinton Hooker added 21 as the Fighting Hawks (15-8, 10-3 BSC) topped Idaho (13-11, 8-5 BSC). Carson Shanks came off the bench and posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Victor Sanders was the only Vandal in double-figures with 11 points on 5-of-17 shooting. Idaho faces Eastern Washington next weekend in Cheney, Wash.

Sacramento State 75, Idaho State 63 – The Hornets (9-14, 6-6 BSC) earned their fourth straight home victory with a 12-point win over Idaho State (5-19, 3-9 BSC). Marcus Graves picked up a game-high 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting. Eric Stuteville had a strong performance with 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting to go along with 16 rebounds.
 
Novak Topalovic led the Bengals with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Brandon Boyd added 15 points in the loss.
