Growing up in Missoula, Colin Bingham had a front-row seat to watch Bobby Hauck’s first teams at Montana.
“I was really lucky in that respect,” the Montana junior tight end said last week leading up to Montana’s season-opener Saturday night against Northern Iowa. “Just seeing all those teams and how hard they played and how much fun they had, and how bought in this city was, I’ve always wanted to be out here doing it.”
This fall, Bingham will get his chance. And he might be the perfect guy to lead the Grizzlies back to those glory days.
All the things that Bingham saw on the field back then — the effort, the buy-in, the toughness — the junior tight end now embodies.
